Our Services

Workplace Advice

We offer employment law advice and assistance in relation to every aspect of the employment relationship. including the termination of employment human rights and equal opportunity, industrial law, goodwill protection, and work health and safety. We focus on providing a commercial approach in line with our client’s goals while minimizing cost.

Investigations

We conduct independent workplace investigations into misconduct, bullying, harassment, and policy breaches. We also advise employers on managing investigations internally and represent employees who are the subject of a workplace investigation.

Workplace Training

We deliver practical, engaging training for employees and managers on topics including appropriate workplace behaviour, performance management, work health and safety, and corporate governance. Our sessions are designed to reduce legal risk and build a stronger culture.

Litigation

We represent clients across all employment law jurisdictions, from the Fair Work Commission to the Federal Court. We are strategic about when to litigate and when to resolve — and we are upfront with our clients about the difference.

Due Diligence

We advise businesses with respect to the employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions and transfer of business.

Compliance Audit

We regularly undertake comprehensive audits to assess a business’ compliance with legislative employment obligations such as pay, leave and superannuation. Our audits can be tailored to meet our client’s individual business needs.

Our History

Shana Schreier-Joffe founded Sasphire Legal in 2014. What began as a sole practice built on the strength of client referrals has grown into an established, specialist employment law firm with a team of experienced practitioners.

Over 12 years, we have advised hundreds of employers and employees across a broad range of industries — from ASX-listed companies and government agencies to owner-operated businesses and senior executives. Our partners Shana and Dean are recognised in the Doyles Guide for their work in employment law.

Our growth has been deliberate. We remain a boutique firm because we believe our clients are best served by senior lawyers who are personally invested in their matters — not by a large team where work is delegated down.

What Our Clients Say

We have always found Shana and her team at Sasphire Legal to be very competent, commercially astute, and agile and I have no hesitation in recommending Sasphire Legal.

Peter Maibon
Managing Director, Ecowize Australia

We see Sasphire Legal as a true partner of ours. They are our trusted legal advisor for all matters relating to our growing our team. We have been partnering with them for over 10 years and value their responsiveness, commercial advice and deep experience.

We believe that any people-centric businesses would be well served to have them on retainer and access their advice if and when needed. We highly recommend them without hesitation.

Jonathan Gavshon
Co-CEO, Group Homes Australia

Both Shana and Dean are very personable and a pleasure to work with.  This is not always so easy to achieve given that most of the matters that bring us together are stressful by their very nature and could potentially have serious consequences for business. There are several lawyers from top tier law firms with which I have previously worked, but I have never received the same level of service, advice and care that we do from Sasphire Legal.

FAQs

Employment law is all we do. That singular focus means we bring a depth of knowledge and experience that generalist firms cannot match. We are large enough to handle complex, high-stakes matters, and small enough that our senior lawyers are directly involved in every engagement. Our clients stay with us because we deliver consistently strong results and genuinely care about their outcomes.

We have flexible fee structures including time-base-costing, fixed project fees, and retainers. We tailor the fee structure to match the needs of our clients.

Yes. All communications with our firm are protected by legal professional privilege and are treated as strictly confidential. This applies from your very first conversation with us, whether or not you ultimately engage us to act.

No. We are a specialist employment law firm and do not handle personal injury, workers’ compensation, or general insurance claims. If your matter falls outside our areas of practice, we are happy to refer you to a trusted firm that can assist.
